You will not need to send in your qualifications if you already have your CAS.

You don't need to have collected your ID card to attend your first lessons.

Can I update my address on my student portal before arriving in the UK?
If you know your address before you arrive in the UK, you can update it on your student portal.

Can my friend or relative collect my student ID card?
We can only issue your ID card to you.

Can my student ID card be posted to me?
If you are a distance learner, and have completed registration and uploaded a photo, we can post your ID card to you.

Do I have to collect my ID on the campus I study at?
You can collect your Student ID at any of our campus Student Centres.

Do I need my portal login to register?
You will not be able to register without your username and password.

Do I need to show my qualifications and ID at registration if I'm a continuing student?
If you're continuing on the same programme of study, you'll only need to do online registration in the following years. If you move onto further study with us, you would then need to do both online registration and the qualification/ID check.

Do I need to register to hand in my dissertation?
If your dissertation is due in the next academic year (from September onwards), you will need to re-register.

Do I need to re-register for resits if I've otherwise finished my course?
If you have any outstanding assignments, or are due to resit exams, you will need to re-register for the new academic year.

Will I need to re-register as a continuing postgraduate research (PGR) student?
If you have received an invitation to complete online registration, you will need to re-register to continue your studies.

Do I register via the student portal?
Yes, once you have your username and password and you’ve been invited to register.

Do I still have to register again in September if I started in January or April?
Yes, you’ll need to complete Online Registration for every academic year (beginning in September) you continue your studies.

Do I need to register if I'm submitting my final project in September?
Yes, you will need to register to be able to submit your work and receive your results.

Can I complete my registration ID check if I don't have a passport?
If you were born in the UK, and are still a UK citizen, you may be able to use a different form of ID to complete registration. If you were born overseas, or do not currently hold a UK passport, you must provide a passport as one of your registration documents.

Can I reactivate my account if I have been withdrawn for non-registration?
Please contact our Student Centre team to assist you with a late registration appeal.

How do I complete 'Part 2' registration?
To complete the second part of registration, send in your qualifications and then show your ID to collect your student ID card.

If I didn't upload a photo during online registration, can I send one in now?
You can send us a photo for your student ID card through the Digital Student Centre, or you can have your picture taken at one of our Student Centres when you come in to register.

How can I collect my student ID card if I live far away from campus?
Unless you are a distance learning student, you will need to collect your student ID card from one of the three Student Centres to complete your registration.

I previously studied at university. Can I resume my studies?
Use the applicant enquiry form and we will get back to you with help and advice on how to apply to us again.

I was not aware I needed to register online. How can I complete online registration?
You can access online registration through the email invitation sent to your personal email address, or by logging into your student portal with the login details sent to you from our IT Service Desk.

If I'm a distance learner, do I need to come to university to collect my ID?
You don’t need to collect your Student ID card from campus if you’re a distance learner.

Online Registration says that registration is closed for my cohort. What does this mean and what do I do?
This means that Online Registration is currently closed for your programme and you will be unable to complete it at this time.

I've lost my student ID card, how do I get a new one?
If it’s the first time you’ve lost your Student ID (Greenwich Gateway Card), you can visit any of our Student Centres for a free first replacement.

Who can I contact if my date of birth on your records is incorrect?
If your date of birth on our records is incorrect, you can let us know when you see us for face-to-face registration.

Who can I contact if the record of my grades in online registration is incorrect?
If you find during online registration that your grades or qualifications appear to be incorrect, please log a query on the Query Tracker.

My qualifications have not been released from my previous institution yet. How can I complete my qualification check?
There are a number of ways you may still be able to complete your qualification checks.

What can I do if online registration says I'm not able to register as a continuing student?
If you are not able to register as a continuing student, this could be due to incomplete resits or resubmissions, an open academic appeal, or outstanding tuition fees from the previous year.

I’ve completed online registration – am I now fully registered?
If you are a continuing student, completing online registration means you’re now fully registered. If you are a new student, completing online registration means you're now ready to provide evidence of your qualifications and ID and to collect your student ID card.

What should I do if I've deferred my start date and my login details don't work?
We'll send an invitation to complete registration to your personal email address a few weeks before your course starts. By the time you've received the email, your login details should have been reactivated.

What should I do if online registration doesn't work on my phone?
Our first suggestion would be to try using a laptop or desktop PC instead.

What should I enter as my Mailing address during Online Registration?
Your Mailing address is an optional address you can add if you’d like your official post (usually your certificate and/or transcript) sent somewhere other than your Permanent address.

What should I enter as my permanent address during online registration?
Your permanent address is your fixed, home address. If during your studies you are living in halls, or rented student accommodation, your permanent address is where you will return back to when you finish.

Your term time address is where you will be staying during your studies.

The type of ID we need to complete your registration will depend on the type of student you are.

Registration invitations are usually sent out around a month before you begin your studies. If you can't find your invite, try checking the junk folder of your personal email address.

Please log an enquiry and we can send it to your faculty for approval.

Why has logging a query during Online Registration stopped me from continuing?
Raising a query during Online Registration allows time for the query to be resolved so your record is fully up to date.

Why haven't I received my invite to register?
Invitations to online registration are sent on the day new-student registration opens. If you haven't received your invitation by a week after this point, please check your inbox for further emails from us and then submit an enquiry in the Digital Student Centre.

Why is online registration showing my one-year course as being two years?
It may be because your course runs over two academic years.

How can I update my preferred name?
You can update your preferred name during online registration, or by contacting the Student Centre.

Why does my online registration say they are no 'actions items' to complete?
'Action items' are the stages of online registration and are updated daily. You might be trying to register too soon.
