The type of ID we need to see to complete your registration will depend on the type of student you are.  The most common forms of ID we'll ask for are a valid, up-to-date passport and a proof of your right to study in the UK (e.g., a visa or a valid share code) if you don't have a British passport.

If you're studying a full-time or part-time course, your original ID needs to be seen in person, but if you're doing a distance learning course we normally just need an email version.

In some cases we might also ask to see proof of a name change (e.g., marriage certificate or deed poll) if the name on our records and your ID don't quite match.

You can find a full list of the IDs we can use to complete your face-to-face registration on our Document Checks page.
