To submit a request for a tuition fee extension, please use the Student Finance Self-referral form.
In the free text box, please outline the following information:
Why you are unable to pay the tuition fees as per your current agreement?
What unforeseen circumstances have occurred since registration that are preventing you from paying?
How you will make payment of the outstanding amount, including suggested dates (which must be within the current academic session) for payment?
You should ensure that you detail why you are suggesting these dates and why the money will be available at that time specifically.
As part of the self-referral form, you should also attach all relevant evidence to support your request. All documentary evidence should be clearly labelled individually and legible to avoid delays in processing.
You must submit the following documents:
At least 3-month bank statements for all accounts you hold including savings.
Letter or email of support from your personal tutor to confirm attendance and awareness of unforeseen circumstances
Examples of some of other types of evidence you can submit are: (this list is not exhaustive)
Letter from GP (if medical ground/consultants)
Death Certificate
Confirmation of engagement with Wellbeing team
Payslips/ P45 (if applicable)
Any other evidence to support your request
Please be aware that requests are not guaranteed and no appeal available.
Please note that if you are an international student, non-payments of tuition fee will result in sanctions being applied to your record. If you are withdrawn from your course for non-payment of tuition fee, the university as your sponsor is obligated to inform UKVI which will result in the withdrawal of our sponsorship of your student visa.
