Extenuating circumstances are situations or events that have happened that make it difficult or impossible for you to undertake an assessment (such as submitting coursework, making a presentation or sitting an exam) or affected your ability to do as well as you could have. The Extenuating Circumstances (EC) Procedure is how you let us know about these circumstances, and it’s important to do so as soon as possible.
Make sure you read through our Extenuating Circumstances webpages for information about the process, deadlines, and possible outcomes of a claim. You can also find information on what ECs are and how to make claim on the GSU website.
