IMPORTANT: This is only relevant if your visa application was granted before 31st October 2024 and you were issued with a BRP. If your visa was granted after this date, please see our webpages on eVisas.

If your BRP has not arrived, please check that your address is the same as when you made the visa application. If you have changed your address, you need to report it to UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) using this online form, or print off and fill in this form and post it to the address specified on the form.

If your address hasn't changed and your BRP has not arrived within 10 days of getting your decision email or letter, please track the delivery of your BRP on the Royal Mail tracking website

You can contact Royal Mail if you need help with your delivery, either by telephone on 03452 680 234 or by filling out this Royal Mail contact form.

If Royal Mail tries to deliver your BRP but is unable to, they’ll leave you a card with instructions on it. You must follow the instructions and either 1) collect your BRP from your local Royal Mail delivery office, or 2) arrange redelivery. You must either collect your BRP or rearrange delivery within 18 days, or your BRP will be returned to UKVI.

You’ll need to tell UKVI that your BRP has not arrived if:

  • you do not have a Royal Mail tracking number

  • Royal Mail is unable to help with your delivery question

  • it’s been more than 21 days since you missed the delivery of your BRP

Please follow the instructions in the final section of this webpage

If you need help contacting UKVI, please reach out to the International Student Advice Service for help by raising an enquiry.

Please be aware that UKVI phased out BRPs from January 2025, meaning no more will be issued and have moved to digital immigration statuses or eVisas. However, if you were issued one before this date and have not received it or it is lost, it is important that you speak with someone to get this resolved. If you were expecting a BRP but did not receive one and now need support, please raise an enquiry with the International Student Advice Service.
