If you need more time to complete your studies due to retakes, you may be able to extend your Student visa with a new CAS if you meet the requirements. You can normally apply for an extension up to three months before the start date on your new CAS. The Student Visa Compliance team will issue your new CAS within this three-month period, once you are eligible to apply.

If you are extending your Student visa for the purpose of remaining on your current course, the new CAS date will always be the day after your current expiration date. For example, if your expiration date is 30th January, the start date of your new CAS is 31st January and it is from this date you will need to backdate 3-months (31st October) for when you would be able to make the visa extension application.

You will find more information on the University's extending your visa webpage.

If you have any questions around the process, please complete our self-referral form and a member of the team will be happy to assist you.
