You can begin your course without having completed your DBS check, but you must have completed it by the time your placement starts. Students are not allowed to attend placement until they have been fully cleared for both DBS and occupational health. It's important to consider that a completed DBS check doesn't just mean completing the initial digital ID check or showing your documents at the Student Centre - the check then also needs to pass through several external departments. Therefore, we encourage students to begin their DBS check as soon as possible.
